Our customer is a leading producer of Lactic acid by industrial fermentation and subsidiary of the Belgian sugar group Finasucre. Lactic acid and its derivatives are widely used as a natural preservative in the food industry and for several feed, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. We are selling our portfolio in more than 60 countries worldwide. In Belgium we employ about 140 persons and export more than 90% of our production. To reinforce our sales team based in Brussels, we are looking for a Sales Manager EMEA
You are responsible for the development and performance of the sales activities in the assigned market. You staff and direct a sales and customer support team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
You convert the global sales objectives in a clear business plan in order to ensure attainment of the company sales goals and profitability.
• You maximize profitability, sales volume and margins.
• You follow the monthly sales results for each sales area (price, volume, margins, product-mix), measure them and help the Area Sales Managers to realize the sales targets.
• You maintain frequent contacts with the customers and prospects in order to create long term relationships.
• You qualify leads and maintain a full understanding of the opportunity and its dynamics.
• You understand the dynamic of your business and are able to provide regular forecasts.
• You understand the needs and requirements of the food industry.
• You are responsible for the performance and development of the Area Sales Managers and Customer Support Assistants. You conduct one-to-one review with your team members to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs and to provide insight for the improvement of your team’s sales and activity performance.
• You assist the Area Sales Managers in preparation of proposals and presentations.
• You work in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager, Market Development Managers, Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager and report to the Sales, Marketing and Business Development Director.
You have a higher (technical or scientific) education.
• You have 5-6 years commercial experience.
• You have a proven track record in B to B sales and management of distributors, preferably in chemical products.
• Experience in and knowledge of the food ingredients industry is preferential.
• You are ready to travel on a regular basis (Europe, Middle East & Africa).
• You are fluent in French and English.
• Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
• You have an extravert, enthusiastic and proactive personality and are customer oriented.
