Our client is a leading Belgian producer of Lactic acid by industrial fermentation and subsidiary of the Belgian sugar group Finasucre. Lactic acid and its derivatives are widely used as a natural preservative in the food industry and for several feed, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. We are selling our portfolio in more than 60 countries worldwide. In Belgium they employ about 140 FTE’s and export more than 90% of their production. To reinforce their current sales team based in Brussels, they are looking for a German-speaking "Area Sales Manager Europe".
You are responsible for developing and strengthening our client’s business by developing strategies to build a pipeline and generate large account opportunities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
- You are responsible for developing and strengthening the business in your region.
- You manage and develop a large end users and distributors by establishing a close relation.
- You perform active research and analyses on markets and the Food Industry, in order to estimate the potential commercial opportunities.
- You qualify leads and maintain a full understanding of the opportunity and its dynamics.
- You maximize profitability, sales volume and margin.
- You develop (cold calling) strategies to build a pipeline and generate large account opportunities. Within the existing customer base, you develop revenue opportunities.
- With the customer service assistance you ensure proper order handling and price strategy implementation.
- You understand the dynamic of your business and are able to provide a regular forecast.
- You understand the needs and requirements of the Food Industry.
- You have a higher (technical) education.
- You have 2-3 years commercial experience.
- You have a proven track record in B to B sales and account management of distributors.
- Experience in and knowledge of the food ingredients industry is preferential.
- You are ready to travel on a regular basis (mainly in Europe).
- You are fluent in English and German.
- Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
- You have an extravert, enthusiastic and proactive personality and are customer oriented.
